FDA and USDA face three-way fight over UPF definition

Comments from FDA and USDA’s 2025 RFI for a UPF definition suggest the main debate is no longer whether UPFs exist, but whether FDA should define them either through processing methods, ingredients and nutrient composition, or a combination of all three.
