New regulations on MOAH and MOSH: What it means for food supplements
The European Union has adopted potentially ‘challenging’ maximum limits for Mineral Oil Aromatic Hydrocarbons (MOAH) in food and supplements, along with monitoring recommendations for Mineral Oil Saturated Hydrocarbons (MOSH). The recommendations impact any food supplement containing fats or oils including fish oils, liposoluble extracts, botanical ingredients that are high in natural fats, oils or resins, and fat-soluble vitamin supplements such as vitamins A, D and E.
