Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Fallingwater has reopened to the public following the completion of a three-year conservation initiative. The reopening coincides with the start of the site’s 2026 tour season, marking both its 63rd year of public tours and the 90th anniversary of the house.

The $7.5 million preservation project, titled World Heritage Preserved, involved comprehensive work to safeguard the structure, during which scaffolding and protective enclosures surrounded the building. These have now been removed, restoring unobstructed views of the house and its setting.

Some minor works remain ongoing and will be carried out overnight or on days when the site is closed to visitors. Wright's scheme will continue to undergo targeted conservation, including masonry repointing at Edgar Kaufmann Sr.’s Terrace, which will remain temporarily closed. Additional painting and window conservation are scheduled for completion in early spring, subject to weather conditions.
