Housing Education Prize winners tackle affordability, climate adaptation, and ownership models

The 2026 Housing Education Prize, presented by the AIA, its Housing and Community Development Knowledge Community, and the ACSA, has recognized three winning course proposals that take a broader view of what it means to prepare architects for the housing question. Their subjects range from design and development to policy, advocacy, research, and public service.
The winning courses will eventually make their way into classrooms at ACSA member schools across the U.S., accompanied by a cash prize and publication.
