The exhibition builds on the 2022 show, From Las Vegas to Rome, organized by the American Academy in Rome, which explored parallels between the two cities through Baan’s photographic work.

Both Rome and Las Vegas are often framed through contrasting narratives: Rome as historic and authentic, Las Vegas as artificial and spectacle-driven. Baan’s exhibition revisits these assumptions through a curated selection of photographs taken between 2022 and 2023.
