Keeping up with the White House makeover: Old columns, bad! New columns, good! Also: underground visitor center

In case you aren't closely following all the developing White House makeover news (God bless your soul), here's what has happened since the last time you blinked:

The Washington Post reports that the Trump-appointed head of the Commission of Fine Arts, Rodney Mims Cook Jr., has proposed to rip out the White House's Ionic columns and replace them with that swankier Corinthian-style drip.

Currently, the North and South porticos feature columns of the Ionic order; however, Corinthian is the preferred style at Mar-a-Lago and other Trump properties and will dominate the highly controversial ballroom project proposal (check here for renderings).
