Mason White is the new dean at the University of Toronto's Daniels Faculty

The University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design has a new dean: Architect and educator Mason White began his five-year term on July 1, bringing more than two decades of experience at Daniels to the role.
A faculty member since 2005, White’s work spans architecture, urban design, and the relationship between the built environment and society, with a particular focus on cold climates. He is also a founding partner of LATERAL OFFICE, where he frequently collaborates with Indigenous partners on community-focused research and design.
White has held several leadership positions at Daniels, including directing its master’s programs in architecture and urban design, as well as its post-professional architecture and landscape architecture programs. He is a Fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and has been involved in more than $2.4 million CAD ($1.7 million USD) in funded research.
