NEOM halts construction of The Line until after 2030

Construction of The Line in Saudi Arabia has been halted until at least 2030, according to new reporting from Semafor. The NEOM project's flagship development, initially expected to span 100 miles and cost more than $1 trillion, was ‘radically scaled back’ at the beginning of the year, according to The Financial Times.
The move comes as the Saudi government reportedly is redirecting funds from The Line to infrastructure such as ports and data centers. Semafor further reports that NEOM projects along the Red Sea coast are also postponed, while the Trojena mountain resort will not receive any further funding until 2030 either.
