New York architect Rex Heuermann pleads guilty to killing 8 women

Rex Heuermann, the man accused of murdering at least seven women on Long Island in what became known as the Gilgo Beach killings, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, bringing a sudden end to a case that took investigators more than a decade to solve. He appeared in Suffolk County court at what had been scheduled as a routine hearing before a trial set to start in the fall.
Rex Heuermann, the New York architect who was arrested in July 2023 on multiple murder charges while maintaining his innocence, was back in court again this morning, this time pleading guilty to murdering eight women on Long Island.
Our initial story about the arrest of the Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect in 2023 resulted in a lively discussion in the comments.
In a separate lawsuit in September 2023, Heuermann and his architectural firm, RH Consultants & Associates, were also accused of wage theft.
