Other structures he’s romantically judged in a positive light: the Elitch Carousel Dome...The Supreme Camp of the American Woodmen at 2100 Downing St...and the University Building on 16th Street...And to be clear, not every building gets the nod. The indubitably classic Mayan Theatre on Broadway gets friend-zoned

Teague Bohlen writes about Colorado Public Radio host Ryan Warner's social media series “Would I Date This Denver Building?,” in which Warner evaluates local architecture as if each building were a potential romantic partner.

Among the buildings to receive his tongue-in-cheek treatment are the Rossonian Hotel, described as “marriage material,” the Elitch Carousel Dome, imagined as a wistful divorcé, and the Mayan Theatre, which gets firmly friend-zoned. Warner says the project is really about making architecture feel more approachable, giving people permission to talk about buildings through personality, memory, and emotion rather than technical vocabulary.
