Tulane appoints John Dwyer as next director of the Small Center for Collaborative Design

The Tulane School of Architecture and Built Environment has named architect and educator John Dwyer as the new Director of the Albert and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design. 

Dwyer succeeds Ann Yoachim, who led the Small Center for more than eight years and will continue teaching at Tulane after guiding the community design center through its 20th anniversary.

The appointment marks a return to New Orleans for Dwyer, who worked in the Lower Ninth Ward as an Architecture for Humanity Design Fellow in the years following Hurricane Katrina. 

As founder of John Dwyer Architecture and architecture chair at Thomas Jefferson University, his work has focused on housing, adaptive reuse, urban design, and community-based design.
