UCLA Architecture and Urban Design (UCLA AUD) is preparing to host two-day conference, “Transitioning Worlds,” on Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21, with a roster of Los Angeles design visionaries including Thom Mayne, Frances Anderton, Dora Epstein Jones, and many more. Presenters will examine the conditions reshaping architectural practice today–across technology, climate, urban governance, globalization, and the nature of design education itself–and how these dynamics demand clarity about what the discipline stands for, rigor about what it can and should deliver, and imagination about what it might yet become.
